EDP means eau de parfum; EDT means eau de toilette. These terms help describe a fragrance format, but they cannot tell you everything about its character, projection or wear. The useful question is how the particular perfume feels on you.
What concentration tells you
A concentration states the proportion of fragrance concentrate in the finished product. Compare the house’s specifications where they are available. Do not assume that every perfume with the same label has the same percentage or wears identically.
What it does not tell you
Wear time and projection vary with the composition, application, skin and conditions. A concentration percentage alone cannot guarantee a number of hours. An eau de parfum and eau de toilette with the same name may differ in composition, not simply in dilution. Neither label proves that one is better, more refined or more suitable for every occasion.
Choose for your day
Try the specific version you are considering. For an office, notice how comfortable the application feels in a shared room. For an evening, consider the character you want to wear. For hot weather, test it in your normal routine rather than relying on a category rule.
What about extrait de parfum?
Extrait de parfum is another fragrance designation. It should not be treated as a universal quality grade or a promise of next-day wear. Follow the product’s own description and specifications.
INKÛNU makes eaux de parfum
Our collection is labelled eau de parfum. Seville Secret contains 30% perfume oil; Kyoto Cherry and Venise Velours contain 25%. We do not relabel these products as extraits because of their percentages.
Compare the three compositions
Kyoto Cherry has a cherry and almond character. Seville Secret offers powdery iris and almond. Venise Velours explores vanilla, incense and leather. Begin with the character that interests you, then evaluate how it wears.
Try before selecting a full bottle
The Travel Set contains Kyoto Cherry, Seville Secret and Venise Velours in three 15 ml bottles. Wear them on separate days before choosing a 100 ml bottle.
Frequently asked questions
Is EDP always stronger than EDT?
The terms alone do not establish a universal projection or longevity ranking. Compare the actual fragrances.
Can I wear an EDP in summer?
You can explore one if its character appeals to you. Try a modest application and assess your comfort in your own setting.
Are INKÛNU fragrances extraits?
No. Kyoto Cherry, Seville Secret and Venise Velours are eaux de parfum.
