Perfume Longevity: What to Consider Beyond Concentration

Perfume Longevity: What to Consider Beyond Concentration

Two fragrances can feel very different several hours after application. One may remain noticeable close to the skin; another may leave a more obvious trail. Understanding that difference helps you choose for your preferences rather than a promised number of hours.

Longevity and sillage are different questions

Longevity describes how long a fragrance remains perceptible. Sillage describes the trail it leaves as you move. A large trail is not the only way to enjoy a perfume, and a quieter scent is not necessarily gone.

Concentration is one piece of information

Wear time and projection vary with the composition, application, skin and conditions. A concentration percentage alone cannot guarantee a number of hours. An EDT, EDP and parfum sold under a similar name can also have different compositions. Test the version you intend to buy rather than extrapolating from its label.

Compare fairly

Wear one fragrance at a time, with a consistent application. Notice your impression shortly after applying and later in a normal day. Record whether you enjoy the developing character as well as whether you can still perceive it.

Take your setting into account

If you spend your day between outdoor heat and air conditioning, try a fragrance in that routine. An impression from a paper strip or a brief visit to a shop is only a starting point.

The INKÛNU collection

Kyoto Cherry and Venise Velours are eaux de parfum at 25% perfume oil; Seville Secret is an eau de parfum at 30%. INKÛNU was founded by two French founders living in the United Arab Emirates. The house brings French perfume expertise together with Middle Eastern inspiration, through travel, scent, memory and emotion. These are product specifications, not a claim of guaranteed morning-to-night wear.

Choose the character you want to return to

Kyoto Cherry explores cherry and almond; Seville Secret offers powdery iris and almond; Venise Velours brings vanilla, incense and leather. Compare the compositions before deciding which concentration or projection you prefer.

Try the collection

The Travel Set contains Kyoto Cherry, Seville Secret and Venise Velours in three 15 ml bottles. Wear them on separate days before choosing a 100 ml bottle.

Frequently asked questions

Does eau de parfum always last longer than eau de toilette?
No fixed ranking can be inferred from the label alone. Compare the actual formulations on your skin.

How many hours will an INKÛNU fragrance last?
We do not promise a universal duration. Your application, skin, environment and the composition all matter.
